Get to know a little bit more about how Ernie Chavez, one of our owners and a physical therapist at Wasatch Therapy, and how he treats his patients. Ernie Chavez’s Bio: Ernie graduated from the University of Utah and has been practicing physical therapy since 1994. He was a member of the US National Boxing team from 1979-1980. Ernie won a gold medal at the National Olympic Sports festival as a boxer in the bantam weight division. He continued his career as a professional, world-ranked boxer. He is an avid runner. He has a personal best of 2 hours and 26 minutes for a marathon. Ernie enjoys running, biking, and in his spare time he likes to watch the Utes play. He has received certifications in Ergonomic and Industrial Rehab, including; functional capacity evaluations and work hardening programs. Ernie specializes in orthopedic, back, and sport injuries. He stresses proper nutrition and exercise to help patients achieve their goals and get them “back to life.”
